Amadumbe are traditional South African starchy tubers similar to sweet potatoes, naturally soft, slightly sweet, and deeply rooted in everyday home cooking. This authentic recipe is simple to make and guaranteed to impress.

Ingredients
- 500 gamadumbe tubers, washed and peeled
- water (enough to cover tubers)
- salt, to taste
- butter or oil for flavor ((Optional))
Method

Place the amadumbe in a pot and cover with water.

Add a pinch of salt and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat and simmer for 20–30 minutes , until tender when pierced with a fork.
