Zutaten
  

  • 500 g beef mince or boneless chicken (cubed) (or use beans for vegetarian version)
  • 2 Esslöffel Öl
  • 1 large onion Gehacktes
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger grated
  • 2 tsp Durban masala or regular curry powder
  • ½ tsp Kurkuma
  • 1 tsp gemahlener Kreuzkümmel
  • 1 large tomato Gehacktes
  • 1 Esslöffel Tomatenmark
  • ½ Tasse Wasser
  • Nach Geschmack Salz und Pfeffer
  • Optional 1 cup cubed potatoes or canned beans (for a hearty version)
  • Fresh coriander (zum Garnieren)
  • 2 unsliced white bread loaves bread base (Cut in half and hollowed out to form "bowls")

Anleitungen
 

  • Heat oil in a pan. Fry the onion until soft.
  • Add garlic, ginger, and spices. Cook for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Add meat or beans. Brown the mince/chicken, stirring to break it up.
  • Stir in tomato, tomato paste, salt, and pepper. Add water and simmer 15–20 minutes until thickened. Add more water if needed.
  • Hollow out each half loaf to create a bread “bowl.” Spoon hot curry into the cavity.
  • Garnish with coriander and serve with the bread pieces you removed.
