- 1 packet Marie biscuits (about 200–250g)
- 1/2 Tasse butter (125g)
- 1/2 Tasse Zucker
- 1/4 Tasse cocoa powder

Crush biscuits: Break Marie biscuits into small chunks (not fine crumbs).
Make chocolate syrup: In a pot, melt butter. Add sugar and cocoa powder and stir until smooth.
Add egg (optional): Remove from heat slightly and quickly whisk in the egg (stir fast so it doesn’t scramble). You can skip this if preferred.
Add flavour: Stir in vanilla essence and salt.
Combine: Pour chocolate mixture over biscuits and mix well until everything is coated.
Press into tray: Press mixture into a greased or lined tray.
Set: Refrigerate for 2–3 hours until firm.
Cut into squares: Slice into bite-sized chocolate squares.
