Ingredientes

  • 500 g beef mince (or a mix of beef and pork)
  • 1 slice white bread (soaked in milk)
  • 1 cebolla pequeña finely chopped or grated
  • 1 diente de ajo picado (opcional)
  • 1 huevo
  • 1 cucharadita dried mixed herbs (or chopped parsley)
  • 1 cucharadita worcestershire sauce (opcional)
  • al gusto sal y pimienta
  • ½ cucharadita ground nutmeg or allspice (opcional)
  • 2 cucharada oil or butter (for frying)

Instrucciones

  • Prep the bread: Soak the slice of bread in a little milk until soft, then squeeze out the excess milk and mash the bread with a fork.
  • Mix ingredients: In a bowl, combine the mince, mashed bread, onion, garlic, egg, herbs, Worcestershire sauce (if using), salt, pepper, and nutmeg/allspice. Mix well using your hands until everything is combined.
  • Shape into balls: Roll the mixture into golf ball–sized meatballs. You should get about 10–12.
  • To fry: Heat oil/butter in a pan over medium heat. Fry the frikkadels, turning to brown on all sides, about 8–10 minutes.
To bake: Place in an ovenproof dish, drizzle with a bit of oil, and bake at 180°C for 25–30 minutes until browned and cooked through.
  • Optional – Simmer in sauce: If you'd like saucy frikkadels, place browned meatballs in a pan with tomato and onion sauce and simmer for 10–15 minutes.
