Ingredientes
  

  • 1 medium pumpkin or butternut, peeled and cubed
  • water (enough to cook pumpkin)
  • ½–1 taza maize meal
  • sal al gusto
  • a little sugar or butter (Optional)

Instrucciones
 

  • Place the pumpkin in a pot and add enough water to cover it.
  • Cook on medium heat until the pumpkin is very soft.
  • Lightly mash the pumpkin in the pot, leaving some texture.
  • Gradually sprinkle in maize meal while stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
  • Simmer on low heat for 10–15 minutes, stirring often, until thick and smooth.
  • Season with salt. Add butter or a little sugar if desired.
  • Remove from heat and serve warm.
