Ingrediënten
  

  • 4 kopjes white bread flour
  • 2 tsp instant gist
  • 1 tsp suiker
  • 1 tsp zout
  • 2 el oil or melted butter
  • ± 1½ kopjes cups lukewarm water

Instructies
 

  • In a large bowl, mix the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
  • Voeg de olie of boter, then gradually add the lauw water, mixing to form a soft dough.
  • Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about 45–60 minutes).
  • Grease a heatproof bowl or dish that fits inside a pot.
  • Punch down the dough, shape it, and place it into the greased bowl.
  • Bring water to a simmer in a large pot (water should not touch the bowl).
  • Place the bowl inside, cover tightly, and steam for 40–45 minutes on low heat.
  • Check doneness with a skewer — it should come out clean.
  • Remove, cool slightly, and serve warm.
