- 1 taza (200 g) azúcar para el pastel

Elaboración paso a paso
- Precalienta el horno a 180°C. Engrasa un molde redondo de 9 pulgadas para que el bizcocho no se pegue.
- Tomar media taza de mantequilla (ablandada) y una taza de azúcar. Bátelos juntos hasta que la mezcla esté ligera y esponjosa.
- Batir dos huevos, de uno en uno, asegurándose de que se incorporan por completo. A continuación, añada una cucharadita de extracto de vainilla.
- En un bol aparte, mezcle una taza y media de harina común, dos cucharaditas de levadura en polvo y media cucharadita de sal.
- Incorporar poco a poco los ingredientes secos a la mezcla de mantequilla. Añadir alternativamente la mitad de la mezcla seca, luego media taza de leche, después el resto de la mezcla seca y terminar con el resto de la leche. Mezclar hasta obtener una masa homogénea.
- Pela, despepita y corta en rodajas finas dos o tres manzanas medianas. Si quieres, puedes espolvorearlas con una cucharadita de canela.
- Vierta la mitad de la masa en el molde preparado y alísela. Coloque las rodajas de manzana uniformemente sobre esta capa. A continuación, vierta el resto de la masa y alise la superficie.
- Introducir la tarta en el horno y hornear de 35 a 45 minutos. Compruebe con un palillo en el centro; debe salir limpio cuando el pastel esté hecho. Deje que el pastel se enfríe ligeramente en el molde.
- En un bol pequeño, mezclar dos cucharadas de natillas en polvo con un poco de leche fría hasta formar una pasta homogénea. Calentar dos tazas de leche con tres cucharadas de azúcar en un cazo hasta que esté casi hirviendo. Incorporar lentamente la pasta de natillas y cocer durante 2 ó 3 minutos, removiendo constantemente hasta que espese. Retirar del fuego y añadir una cucharadita de extracto de vainilla.
